Why this site exists
LandscapeMath is run by an independent developer, not a landscaping company or materials supplier. The site exists to give homeowners and contractors a fast, free way to estimate project materials without wading through sales pages or signing up for anything.
How the numbers are checked
Every calculator uses standard engineering formulas for volume and coverage, combined with material densities and coverage rates drawn from open engineering references and supplier data sheets. Results are spot-checked against established landscaping and construction calculators to catch mistakes before they reach you.
That said, real-world material density and compaction vary, so treat every result as an estimate and round up for waste.
